Turn Your World Black And White
Back in college, a professor in advertising was sharing to her class the important points that one should take into account when creating an ad campaign. She said that it should be kept in mind that the ad that you would be creating would stand out from the rest so that way, people who get to view the ad would remember it and thus would remember the product that you are advertising.
One of the things that have stuck to this mind is the fact that the easiest way to actually make an ad stand out is to create an ad using only black and white. In a sea of colored ads, a black and white one would really stand out.
Indeed, black and white images really tell you a lot. One of the things that make it interesting is the fact that the viewer does not have to deal with colors to tell a story - all you have to look at is what the picture shows and that is all. You only have to deal with shadows and not really the combination of colors of the images. Many may not like black and white because they think that the more colorful an image is, the better it is. But that is not true in all cases. Black and white really has got a story to tell and it will definitely bring you back to the times when everything went out in those two colors because going colored just has not yet been invented.
In case you are on the trail towards creating images that would stand out from the rest, you can go with using black & white negative 120 film. This may not be something that not everyone else is into because film cameras are not that used with the advent of digital cameras. But if being different is the name of your game, go with film and use a black & white negative 120 film. It may definitely be old school but with the proper composition and the right moment, you get an image that is not only classic but is also worth a thousand (or even more) words.
Not a lot of people still use film but if you are into lomography, then you definitely will find a group who still use film. So it can never be said that film is totally out and nobody uses it anymore.

Why is there areas of white on my developed film?
Usually when you develop a roll a film, the frame goes black if over-exposed and it stays clear if under-exposed. Why does my film have areas of white? What did I do wrong?
-note: I am using black and white film.
Possibly not fixed properly. Try putting it through a fresh fixer bath.
