MERCEDES BULBS

Mercedes is synonymous with luxury and style.

Owning a Mercedes is not only an indication of how fat the owner’s purse is, but also tells us something about the owner’s elegant choice for driving the best quality cars available in the market today. These cars are fitted with accessories that truly match the expectations of the owner. When a person chooses such an expensive car, it is his obvious expectation to have the best quality tools and accessories fitted in the car. One such tool is a car’s bulb. Mercedes bulbs are a product of exhaustive research in this field.

When Mercedes Benz C- class first became available in the market in 1933, they had the old-fashioned lamps that provided a very narrow range of illumination on the streets. With the passage of time these bulbs gave way to the halogen lamps akin to those in the Mercedes Benz E- class. These halogen bulbs were more powerful than their predecessor and also provided the driver with a much wider vision during night time. They were helpful in illuminating the roads at night and making driving a satisfactory experience for the driver. Then came the age of the HID (High Intensity Discharge) bulbs and, more recently, LED bulbs. With the emergence of the HID bulbs, driving a Mercedes became a much more pleasurable experience. With their dazzling white light with a bluish hue, they became the first choice for Mercedes manufacturers and owners alike. Their ability to produce a much more intense light than the halogen bulbs became the reason for their popularity among Mercedes enthusiasts. And not only this, their filament-less construction gave their life-span a tremendous boost. While on an average they were expected to last ten times more than the ordinary halogen bulbs, in some cases the manufacturers of the Mercedes claimed that their life-span was equal to that of the car itself.

The light emitted from HID bulbs is very close to natural daylight. Studies clarify that while the natural daylight is 5400, the halogen is only 3400, whereas an HID scores near to 4300. This near-to-daylight speciality is extremely helpful for people with poor night vision. With these bulbs on your car during the night time, the roads are illumined just as they were in daylight. This gives the driver a chance to enjoy a tension- free ride.

These HID bulbs were then followed by LED bulbs. The LED bulbs were initially used only as tail lights. But after careful research the LED began to be used as headlights in Mercedes too. They are available in plenty of colours and shapes. Both the LED and HID consume much less power than the halogen bulbs and other traditional sources of lighting. These modern day methods of lighting are not only much more intense but also stylish when compared to halogen bulbs. With these light sources as the Mercedes bulbs, one can expect people looking at your car with their jaws dropped and eyes full of envy. So look up in the internet or contact your nearest shop to buy a pair of bulbs today.

what is the relationship between light intensity and wattage? or are they the same thing?

I'm on a project where i have to vary light intensity, my teacher has told me to use light bulbs of different wattages but i have to include in my report what the relationship is. Pls help!

A Watt is a measure of power, which is the amount of energy consumed per second.

In a light bulb the wattage is the amount of power used by the bulb while it was on. This does not necessarily relate to the brightness of the bulb, because a very efficient bulb will be much brighter than an inefficient bulb for the same watts used.

Light intensity is measured in Candelas, which is closely related to Lumens (light flux) and Lux (light emitance). All of these are linked to the amount of power (measured in Watts) emitted by the bulb.

For similar bulbs of different wattages the light intensity (light power output) will vary as the power (Watts) in varies. EG a 60W bulb will be 1.5 times as bright as a 40W bulb.
