My 11 1/2 year old black lab was diagnosed with hip dysplasia last September, any helpful advice? ?

She has managed well with pain medication but now she struggles to keep from dragging her back legs. She has a good appetite, a beautiful shiny coat and her eyes still sparkle! But it is apparent that she is in pain most of the day, she carries her tail low between her legs when she walks and sometimes she slips and will drag her feet causing swelling and bleeding to her toes. We supervise her when she is out so if she struggles we can help her. Our vet feels she is not a good candidate for a surgical procedure due to her advanced age so she is taking pain and inflammatory medications. I cannot stand the thought of euthanizing, she seems so healthy other than her hip. I am now seeing some depression and her spirit seems to be going fast. I don't want her to suffer another moment, I am looking for any suggestions that may offer strength or helpful advice.
