What Types Of Surgery Do ENT Surgeons Perform?
Head and neck surgery is becoming more and more common, both in London and in the rest of the world. A lot of people have disorders which require in-depth examination of the voice box or trachea. Others need biopsies of potentially cancerous masses in the neck. Still others seek reprieve from sleep apnea. All of these require some form of surgery. This article will go over some of the different types of head and neck surgery that an ENT surgeon can perform.
One common type of neck surgery involves the biopsy of unidentified masses. These masses may be cancerous, or they may be completely harmless. A biopsy allows a head and neck surgery team to extract tissue for testing. This procedure can be performed very quickly and with minor amounts of pain. If you have an unidentified neck lump, please don't wait. Schedule an appointment with an ear nose and throat surgeon to make sure the lump isn't cancerous. It doesn't even need to take much time out of your day. You can visit a surgeon right here in London, and you can return home as soon as the procedure is finished.
If the biopsy should reveal that the lump is cancerous, another form of neck surgery will be required to remove it. Surgeries on benign masses are typically not too complicated. However, the removal of a malignant mass is much more involved, and it may require a larger group of head and neck surgery experts. You probably won't have to leave London for this surgery, but you may need to go to a larger surgical facility.
There are also a number of procedures which can allow an ENT surgeon to have a better view of the neck. A laryngoscopy allows the surgeon to take a closer look at the voice box. This can help him to spot problems which cause pain or vocal disorders. If the surgeon finds polyps or some other form of laryngeal disease, a separate head and neck surgery can be undertaken to treat these.

How to get rid of looong middle ear problem? Help!?
Hello, i've been having a middle ear problem since i went to a hill station about 1and a half years back,.....n after my recent air travel, it has caused me lot of irritation! ENT doctor had an year back( and this time also) said that some fluid from my nose has reached up to my middle ear(s). (seems to me somewhat like otitis media)....well they gave me medicines but they worked only temporarily besides making me drowsy most of the time...they said there is a surgical method but they won't recommend it. ...i also have sinusitis>> My ears feel clogged from inside and "filled"....keep on popping, making sounds, though pain only few times...they feel "closed" n i really dislike it!! what should i do!!?!!? i am 16...and love swimming( doctors have stopped me from swimming though)!! Can i plz get good help, preferably from an expert?

There are a ton of sites on line that offer free advice from Physicians. Google "Ask ear nose and throat doctor" or "ear nose and throat questions" and you should get a bunch of sites to legitimate doctors willing to answer your questions. I also found a question on Answers (link below) where someone else got some advice for some quite odd homeopathic remedies.
The second link is to a pay site, but I'm not sure how it works. Just that live doctors and nurses are on hand to answer your question immediately and for a small fee.
