problem with six burner gas stove top - why do all the burners try to light when I only am using one burner?
I have a six burner gas stove top. When I light one of the burners, the other 5 burners start ticking trying to light themselves. If I turn them on and then back off sometimes it stops. It seems to be the two largest burners that cause the most problems. Anybody know what is going on and how to fix it?
Are you sure it has not always done this? On most gas cooktops with this style ignition, all the surface burners tick. But your only sending the gas to the burner that you selected, then it ignites that one. Then you move the knob past the "light" position, and then it will stop clicking. But, if it is sending gas to burners that are not selected, shut the gas off to the unit and call a service company.
