Can I use table salt in place of aquarium salt for my 2Dwarf Frogs and 1Betta fish for treatment purposes only
My frogs have fungal infection, how much salt should I add?
DO NOT USED IODIZED TABLE SALT. Most salt sold in grocery stores has iodine in it. It will kill your fish/frogs.
Go to the pet store, buy yourself some Aquarium Salt. It will come with instructions on how much to use. I think it's 1tsp/gallon, but I'm not positive. Try to ID the infection and get the appropriate treatment.
You could try Saltwater Baths with the frogs where you mix the salt into the water in a marine amount, you put the affected fish in the salt water for a minute maybe two (it will kill them if you leave them in too long), then immediately put them back in freshwater. They will be stressed, but it will help to kill the fungus.
